Selected residents of Palm Springs, California, only need to wait 11 days before a guaranteed income program begins paying $800 every month. The program, which is being run by nonprofit organizations Queer Works and DAP Health, selected 30 recipients earlier this year in March and will begin the 18-month-long pay schedule on May 15. The recipients of this program will be free to spend this monthly payment in any way they see fit, according to Queer Works. Applications for this program opened on March 15 and closed on March 25.
