A woman was killed Thursday morning after she was thrown off a motorcycle on westbound Interstate 10 in Palm Springs, according to California Highway Patrol. The 68-year-old woman was a passenger on the green Harley-Davidson, which was driven by a 62-year-old man. The CHP said that just before 11:30 a.m., the man made an unsafe turn to the left for unknown reasons and then lost control, overturning in the center divider of the freeway. The man was going about 70 mph on the westbound side of the freeway east of the Palm Drive/Gene Autry Trail exit, CHP spokesperson David Torres said.
